In 2002, Carlton Ware introduced a brand‑new generation of smaller, limited‑edition Golly figurines, launching what would become one of the most talked‑about modern Golly collections. These later releases were produced in tightly controlled worldwide numbers and issued in themed series, each with its own character set and a special twist that kept collectors guessing.
Series One arrived first with a full set of eight Golly figurines, accompanied by a mystery ninth that wasn’t revealed until collectors began opening their boxes. The idea proved so popular that Series Two, Three and Four followed the same format — each offering five official Golly figurines plus a mystery sixth known only to Carlton Ware and the earliest buyers. At the time, no one knew what the mystery pieces would be, adding real excitement and anticipation to every purchase.
