Francis Meadow Sutcliffe better known as Frank was born on 6th October 1853. Frank was an awesome photographer who's work portrayed life in the enchanting seaside town of Whitby and the surrounding area. Frank was an artist who chose to use a camera as his medium; his work has an immediacy and truth not so readily captured with brush or pencil.

Prints, framed prints and postcards originally sold from the Sutcliffe Gallery in Whitby are now becoming highly collectable since it's closure.
